Dreams do come true....hopefully.
The best part about blogging is I can throw in as many exclamation points as I want and run on sentences. It doesn't have to flow. I don't have to send it to an editor. (I'm now writing for the Tooele Transcript Hometown department with the help of my trusty sidekick Sandra) I usually feel like Robin to her Batman...and that's okay.
So we're doing a FULL IRONMAN.
My first goal is to drop 15-20 lbs so I can fit in my wet suit. Honestly I don't want to fork out more money for another one. So it's time to quit eating the whole bag of Swedish fish and guittard chocolate chips. I really think watching what I eat is one of the most time consuming, annoying things about getting fit. This is just so you know that I'm an average housewife attempting to accomplish this!
I'm not a super athlete that goes out and runs a 6 minute mile, or 7, or 8 (Ok maybe 1 mile at 8 minutes on the verge of throwing up, but not 24)
I'm short. Below the American average.
I swam in high school, two years. In lane 1. (8 Being the fastest lane) Oh and my butterfly was faster than my free style. I look like I graduated maybe ten years ago, no people it was 20 this year! Yikes.
I picked up biking for my first triathlon on a Walmart purchased bike. (Don't listen to what people say, the BIKE does make a difference) I'd rather leisurely bike. I'm afraid of going fast, and if I'm going down hill I'm usually praying at the same time. If I get a flat, I'm in trouble even though I've been taught how to fix it. I can't remember.
I can feel this dream taking shape. I made Sandra sign up for Ogden with me. My thought process is if we do two marathons this year we will have a really good base. My thought process right now is to try to fit 2 bikes and 2 swims in a week. Then run 4x a week. Sandra has set up an awesome training program for us that begins in a few weeks.
This morning I ran 5 miles and felt good. Yesterday I swam in the Vasa Pool. If you want to train for good mental prep, swim there. It's like swimming in a fish bowl. (Very small) At the same time I'm trying to breathe too, someone is spraying the air with some kind of fragrance that stinks. It has happened a few times, so I'm just going to have to find out what it is.
Tomorrow I will be swimming at the Tooele Pratt and then Saturday running.
Happy Long weekend!
